10. Stranger Things

Stranger Things

At the top of our list is Duffer Brother’s Stranger Things. The show is a mix of mystery, sci-fi, and horror, giving us the perfect blend to portray the unfolding of the many supernatural events occurring in the town of Hawkins, Indiana in the 1980s.

When a young boy (Will) disappears suddenly and mysteriously, the inhabitants of a small town discover secret government labs, portals to an alternate world, and sinister monsters. Will, Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Eleven embark on a journey to solve a series of events. Starring Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, and more, the show returns for the 4th season with new twists and turns.

Easily the best season of the series, it captured both new and returning viewers’ attention.

9. Inventing Anna

Based on real-life events, Inventing Anna takes us inside the conniving world of Anna Sorokin to discover how she got caught conniving high-class New York elites. The series stars  Julia Garner as Anna Sorokin, who played the character exceptionally well, along with Anna Chlumsky, Arian Moayed, Katie Lowes, and more as side characters.

In the series, Sorokin, a Russian-born woman, portrays herself as a German heiress with substantial wealth with the assumed name Anna Delvey. Through this persona, she cons upper-class New Yorkers into funding her art-themed club and indirectly paying for her luxurious lifestyle.

8. The Sandman

Based on Neil Gaiman’s 1990s comic book of the same name, The Sandman is an American fantasy drama produced by DC Entertainment and Warner Bros.

This story revolves around Dream, also known as Morpheus, the titular Sandman in The Sandman. With Boyd Holbrook, Vivienne Acheampong, and Patton Oswalt in supporting roles, the series stars Tom Sturridge as the title character.

An occult ritual captures Morpheus, the personification of dreams and one of the seven Endless, a powerful being known to have existed before gods. Dream escapes after being imprisoned for 106 years and the story follows Morpheus as he restores order to The Dreaming, a metaphysical realm where other powerful beings known as dreams or nightmares also exist.

7. Echoes

Echoes is an Australian miniseries starring Michelle Monaghan, Matt Bomer, Daniel Sunjata, Ali Stroker, and more.

In this mystery thriller, identical twins Leni and Gina carry out a dangerous secret: the twins live a double life, frequently switching places with each other since they were children. Now they live in two homes, have two husbands, and have a child. After one of the twins goes missing, their world is turned upside down.

We learn more about the twins and their lives till now at the story comes to an end with a shocking plot twist.

6. Never Have I Ever

An American comedy-drama series created by Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher featuring Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Never Have I Ever is a coming-of-age story.

The story centers on Devi Vishwakumar, a 15-year-old Indian-American girl from Sherman Oaks, LA, as she deals with grief from losing her father, her identity, and her romantic and school life. The show begins with Devi losing all the senses in her leg due to psychological trauma from losing her father, until one day, her legs heal and she’s able to walk again.

She wishes to change her social status after having a terrible freshman year, but friends, family, and feelings complicate the process. Premiering in 2020, the show is back for a third season, exploring more events in Devi’s life.

5. Bridgerton

Starring Phoebe Dynevor, Regé-Jean Page, Adjoa Andoh, and more, Bridgerton is an American historical drama based on Julia Quinn’s series of novels, also named Bridgerton

Set in the Regency era, the story follows the members of the Bridgerton family in London during the “social season” when marriageable youth of nobility are introduced to the marriage market. Each season follows a Bridgerton sibling and their story as they find love.

With a star-studded cast and intriguing story, the show is back with another season, this time following the eldest sibling Anthony Bridgerton. 

4. Ozark

Ozark is an American crime drama. Starring Jason Bateman, Laura Linney, Sofia Hublitz and more, it follows Marty Byrde as he offers to set up a larger laundering operation to make amends for a failed money laundering scheme for a Mexican drug cartel in the Lake of the Ozarks area of central Missouri. Marty abruptly moves his family from Naperville, Illinois, to Osage Beach, Missouri, a remote summer resort community. The Byrdes become involved in criminal activities with the Langmore and Snell families, as well as the Kansas City Mafia.

Originally airing in 2017, the show was well received by critics and this year it released its fourth season.

3. Umbrella Academy

Based on the original comic series The Umbrella Academy by Gerard Way, the show can be described as a mix of supernatural, action and comedy-drama featuring a “dysfunctional family of superheroes”.

Starring Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, and Aidan Gallagher as the main characters, the show begins as 43 women give birth simultaneously at noon on October 1, 1989, despite not showing any signs of pregnancy before labor began. A total of seven children are adopted by billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves who transformed them into a group of superheroes known as “The Umbrella Academy”

Original premiering in 2019, the show is back with a third season exploring further into the story after the plot twist at the end of season 2.

2. Business Proposal

Business Proposal is a Korean romantic comedy-drama based on a webtoon sharing the same name. Starring Kim Sejeong, Ahn Hyo-seop, Kim Min-kyu, and Seol In-ah, the story follows the life of the main character Shin Hari.

Shin Ha Ri is a single woman who works for a company. Shin Ha Ri is friends with Jin Young Seo, who is a daughter of a rich aristocratic family. Jin Young Seo pleads with Shin Ha Ri to take her place on a blind date set up by Young Seo’s father and even offers some money and clothes in return. When Shin Ha Ri accepts her friend’s offer and goes on a blind date as Jin Young Seo with the intention of rejecting the date, she’s shocked to find out that it’s her boss at the company she works.

1. The Lincoln Lawyer

The Lincoln Lawyer

Starring Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Neve Campbell and more, The Lincoln Lawyer is an American Legal drama.  Based on Michael Connelly’s 2008 novel The Brass Verdict, a sequel to The Lincoln Lawyer, created for television by David E. Kelley and developed by Ted Humphrey.

Taking place in Los Angeles, this story follows Mickey Haller (Garcia-Rulfo), an idealistic criminal defense attorney operating out of the back seat of his Lincoln. With a sense of compassion that this world could use more of, he takes on the underdog with a conviction that everyone deserves a day in court.
